Pediatric Cardiologist
Dr. Panchangam is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Cardiologist to join our academic pediatric cardiology practice. Join our dynamic and collegial team of pediatric sub- specialists as we care for congenital and acquired cardiovascular defects and diseases in fetuses, infants, and children. This is a unique opportunity to be the primary cardiologist managing the full spectrum of pediatric heart diseases such as arrhythmias, heart failure, and fetal abnormalities while collaborating with specialists at the three major cardiac surgical programs in Missouri.
The new Children's Hospital, which opened in June 2024, is designed with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring a supportive and healing environment for our patients, their families, and our staff.
Job Highlights:
- Clinical Focus - 90% clinical, 10% teaching, involving predominantly outpatient clinic work with some inpatient consults.
- Diagnostic Responsibilities - Interpret echocardiograms, EKGs, Holters, event monitors, and stress tests.
- Teaching Opportunities - Engage with medical students and residents through teaching responsibilities.
- Call Schedule- Light call, evenly divided among the team.
- State-of-the-art Facilities
- New Level 3 NICU with 60 private rooms.
- Newly constructed Children’s Hospital with 205 rooms.
- A specialized 16-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
- Research Opportunities - Opportunity for involvement in clinical and/or translational research.
- Collaborative Environment - Work closely with other sub-specialists in multidisciplinary clinics.
- Advanced Pediatric Echo Lab- IAC accredited, supported by a 24/7 on-call pediatric sonographer. Pediatric sonographers are trained to also perform fetal echocardiograms.
- Remote Capabilities - Ability to interpret EKGs and echocardiograms from home.
- Active Maternal-Fetal Medicine Program - A busy MFM practice generates a high volume of fetal referrals, with pediatric electrophysiology clinic support available.
- Outreach Opportunities - Participation in outreach clinics 1-2 times a month.
- Academic Exploration -Explore interests in fetal cardiology and research opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Interests or experience in fetal cardiology, clinical and/or research opportunities in preventative cardiology.
